The Situation:
The Chiang Mai International Airport announced Thursday that 151 domestic and
international flights will be canceled or rescheduled beginning Saturday, November 9
through Tuesday, November 12 for the Loy Krathong and Li Peng sky lantern festival over
concerns for safety. So far 66 domestic and 30 international flights have been canceled,
while 44 domestic and 14 international flights have been rescheduled.
Individuals traveling to or from the Chiang Mai International Airport are advised to confirm
the status of their flight before departure for the airport and anticipate flight and airport
services disruptions.
