The Situation:
A severe cyclonic storm ‘Bulbul’ is likely to pass over Odisha and West Bengal between 9
and 10 November. The storm is expected to bring rain and damaging winds to Odisha and
West Bengal states through Sunday, 10 November, as it moves closer to the coast.
According to the IMD, some coastal areas of West Bengal state may experience over 20 cm
(8 in) of rain between Friday and Saturday. Flooding, landslides, and power outages are
possible in the area over the coming days. Associated transportation and business
disruptions, including flight delays and cancelations, are possible.

Travel delays caused by increased road traffic and damaged or unsafe roadways
