The Situation:
Flights attendants’ union (UFO) called for a 48-hour strike for Lufthansa's German
operations. The strike is scheduled to begin on 6 November at 11pm GMT and end 8
November at 11 pm GMT.
All Lufthansa flights departing from Germany during this time have a high potential to be
impacted. The strike may also impact Lufthansa's affiliate airlines including EuroWings and SunExpress.
Possible Effects:
Delayed or cancelled flights
Possible protests or demonstrations at airports
Traffic delays due to strikes, demonstrations, etc.
Blocked roads due to demonstrations, especially those near the airport
Mitigating Factors to Apply:
Check with airport to confirm flight status before departure
Avoid all protests and demonstration, which have the possibility of turning violent
Allow extra time for travel
Monitor local media and news for updates
