The Situation:
The weekend of the 16th and 17th of November marks the first anniversary of the Yellow
Vest Movement. Demonstrations are planned throughout the country from the 15-17
November with demonstrations in Paris gathering the largest participation. See the link for
a complete list of scheduled demonstrations.
Transportation disruptions of main thoroughfares and large crowds are expected.
Possible Effects:
Large crowds
Protests or demonstrations in major cities, some unplanned
Traffic delays
Blocked roads
Mitigating Factors to Apply:
Avoid all protests and demonstration, which have the possibility of turning violent and can attract unwanted attention
Allow extra time for travel
Avoid travel through major cities if possible, instead using bypasses
Monitor local media and news for updates
Follow the advice of local law enforcement
Enroll in a safe traveler program to receive warnings from your preferred embassy
