The Situation:
Europe is forecast to experience high temperatures lasting through at least Friday, 26 July,
with temperatures peaking on Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures are expected to
climb close to and above 40 degrees Celsius (104 Fahrenheit) in several countries across
the continent.
The previous heatwave in June produced temperatures close to 45 degrees Celsius (113
Farenheit)
There is a heightened risk of wildfires.
Mitigation Measures to Consider:
Drink plenty of water
Stay indoors when possible
Avoid strenuous activities
Wear light clothing
Be mindful of heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke
Monitor local weather reports
