Situation:
Early Sunday morning (16 June) Argentina’s interconnection system collapsed causing a massive power outage that affected all of Argentina and Uruguay with social media reports of Brazil, Chile and Paraguay.
Work on restoring electricity has begun and will take several hours.
As of right now outage is being attributed to a “general failure in the interconnection system”.
Mitigation Steps:
Stay in until power is restored
Avoid any areas of potential unrest, looting, etc.
Once power is restored make sure phone is charged in case of another outage
Monitor local media, social media as best possible for further updates
