TRAVEL SUPPORT
LSDS’s Collegiate Travel Support program offers you a responsive, accountable, and comprehensive risk mitigation solution aligned with your program goals and objectives. You will receive extensive support and assistance for students traveling within the United States and Internationally. This includes proactive monitoring of travel locations, in-person safety training prior to departure, and thorough travel preparation assistance, including safety plans. Students will benefit from location-specific monitoring starting two weeks before travel and continuing until the trip's completion. Additionally, you have access to on-call support to address any issues that may arise, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
METHODOLOGY

Develop a Safety Plan template for specific travel requirements and concerns

Build check-in process for students to maintain accountability on travel progress and safety

Conduct in-person safety training event prior to travel with essential topics to include, but not limited to:

Situational safety and awareness

Self-defense

Traveler preparation, digital safety, and medical

Individual review and feedback provided for each Safety Plan submitted by students

Regular check-ins with travel program leadership to discuss upcoming and ongoing travel and any emerging global concerns that may impact students

Optional: Review or assist with developing standard operating procedures for a variety of travel incidents that travelers may experience during International or US travel

Optional: Crisis response and management exercises to prepare your team to manage crises and ensure seamless communication during an emergency scenario to ensure your program remains resilient and responsive in the face of any challenge.
RESULTS
A collegiate travel program that empowers students to confidently reach for their academic, humanitarian, and professional goals with the skills and information to respond to a variety of complex scenarios. Educators, faculty, and parents gain peace of mind knowing that scholars are prepared to face unexpected events and that a robust response mechanism is in place should a crisis develop during travel.
Should a crisis situation develop during travel, LSDS can be activated to respond, advise, and assist in line with established crisis response protocols to ensure safe resolution of student emergency.
Dates/Planning Consideration
● 60-day period for the creation, review, and approval of the travel support process.
● Trip destination and duration information submitted 3 weeks prior to travel for timely review and alerts.
